  • The Phototherapy Facial combines IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and NIR (Near-Infrared) in a single session. IPL targets the surface — pigmentation, redness, sunspots, and broken capillaries. NIR penetrates deeper to stimulate collagen and improve skin elasticity. Together they brighten, even out skin tone, and improve overall skin quality.

  • PhotoFacials are effective for treating pigmentation, sunspots, redness, broken capillaries, dullness, and uneven skin tone. It also helps improve skin firmness and elasticity by stimulating collagen production.

  • While some improvement can be seen after a single session, a series of 3–5 treatments spaced 3–4 weeks apart typically provides the best and most lasting results.

  • Most clients describe the sensation as a mild warmth or light snapping, similar to a rubber band. The treatment is generally well-tolerated, and cooling systems are used to enhance comfort.

  • There is little to no downtime. You may experience slight redness or warmth for a few hours. Pigmented spots may temporarily darken before flaking off naturally within a few days.

  • Skin often looks brighter and more even within a week. Collagen stimulation from the Near-Infrared light continues to improve skin texture and firmness over several weeks.

  • Apply SPF 50+ sunscreen daily — essential after any light-based treatment. Use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser for the first 3 days. Avoid retinol and AHA/BHA acids for 3 days. Avoid hot showers and saunas for 24–48 hours. Do not pick at any darkened spots.

  • IPL is most effective for lighter skin tones (Fitzpatrick I–III). A consultation is necessary to determine if PhotoFacial is suitable for your skin type and concerns.

  • Results can be long-lasting with good skincare and sun protection, but maintenance treatments may be needed every 4–6 months, especially for pigmentation and redness.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure, hot showers, saunas, and active skincare (like acids or retinoids) for 2–3 days. Always apply sunscreen daily to maintain results.

  • Not suitable for darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV–VI) due to risk of hyperpigmentation, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infections, on photosensitising medication, or with recent sun exposure. The doctor will assess during consultation.
